Why Adopt?

Many say that adopted pets know you saved them. Whether that is true or not, we do know that they bring great joy to your life. Adopting helps to reduce the number of cats who end up in shelters and are often euthanized. It also opens space for the next cat in need. You get a healthy cat that is free from fleas, ticks and worms, is spayed or neutered, given age appropriate vaccinations, FIV/Felv tested and has a microchip. This medical work will cost you significantly more if done on your own, and its all included in our adoption fee. Adopting means saving a life!

Are you Ready?

A cat can live up to 21 years. Before adopting, please be sure you are ready to accept a commitment to care for the cat for their lifetime, even as your financial or household status changes. With proper planning, you will be able to keep the loving and loyal cat in your home through all sorts of changes, such as having a baby or moving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Adoption starts with filling out the adoption application. You can find the application here at the link below.

Once an application is submitted, we do our best to review and respond within 72 hours. Keep an eye on your inbox! We do ask that applicants understand that we are volunteers, and almost all of us work full time jobs.

Our fees are $165 for each cat.

Vet work included can vary from cat to cat due to a number of factors. Typically a fee will include spay/neuter, vaccinations (FVRCP and Rabies), FIV/Felv testing and a Microchip. These services are a value of $300 and up when done on your own with regular vet fees. However, vet work is done on an age appropriate basis. For example rabies is typically given at 16 weeks. Our kittens are often adopted around 12 weeks. If any vet work is not completed by the time the cat is adopted, we will let you know what is still required.

We unfortunately cannot hold a cat for you.
Yes! Bring your carrier! Cats can go home same day in most cases. If you don’t have a carrier, you can purchase one at the event.

The Adoption Process

STEP ONE

Application

The first step to any adoption is our application. Don’t worry if you don’t know which cat you want yet, we can help you. Our adoption coordinator will try to review your application and respond (often via email) within 48 hours. Our goal is to make the best match for both the adopter and the cat which means that applications are not on a first come first serve basis.

STEP TWO

Meet & Greet

Look through our available cats and if there is someone you would love to meet, connect with us or come to an adoption event! We post upcoming adoption events on our Facebook page and host events often!

STEP THREE

Contract & Fees

Now that you’ve met your potential feline best friend, it’s time to make the final decision. If the answer is “Yes!” then simply fill out an adoption application. We take most methods of payment. Please note that we cannot hold a kitten or cat without payment. Don’t forget your carrier!

STEP FOUR

Bring your new family member home

Now is the best part, you get to bring your new family member home! Be as prepared as possible with all supplies (food, bowls, bed, litter, toys etc) ready for them as soon as they get home. Just like human experiences, the cats first time at home will shape how they respond to their new environment and set the tone. If you have other resident animals, please read up here on how to introduce them properly for best success.
